A Colourful Summer Treat: Blue Jasmine Tea Cocktail
Winnie Tsang - Aug. 5, 2020
We're just about halfway through summer but we're not letting patio sipping stop here! This beautiful alcohol-free tea cocktail is made with our Blue Jasmine Tea, a blend of delicate Bai Mudan white tea, fragrant jasmine green tea, and butterfly pea flowers. The layered look of this colourful drink makes it a fun summer treat for all ages!
This recipe makes 4 tall glasses.
Ingredients
1/2 ounce of Blue Jasmine loose tea
4 cups of hot water (8 oz cup size)
2 cans of sparkling lemon juice
Ice cubes
Tools
Heatproof jug (1 L or larger)
Method
- Add the loose tea into a tea sock over a heatproof jug.
- Pour the hot water over the loose tea and steep for 10 minutes. Once the tea has finished steeping, swirl the loose tea to release more colour from the butterfly pea flowers.
- Remove the tea sock and let the tea cool before putting the jug into the refrigerator to chill overnight.
- To serve, fill a tall glass with ice cubes until 1/2 full and add 1/2 can of sparkling lemon juice. Next, slowly pour 1 cup of chilled tea over the ice cubes so that the tea is layered on top of the lemon juice.
For an alcoholic version, try adding 1 oz of gin or vodka!
