Cranberry Port butter board
Breanne Teranishi - Oct. 13, 2022
Author: Layla Osberg
You may have come across the butter board trend during your daily scrolling. It seems to be everywhere right now, from celebrity chefs and everyone in between trying out different presentation techniques and flavour combinations…and that’s when the lightbulb went off. Let’s do a Murchie’s butter board with Cranberry Port Preserve! So here it is, a delicious and easy to make appetizer that will impress your guests and maybe even become a holiday tradition.
Different brands of butter can vary - it could come down to your personal taste. A good rule of thumb when it comes to choosing the butter for your butter board would be to splurge a little and go for a local, organic butter.
Slice off about a half a cup or so of butter, depending on the size of your board and give it a stir with a wooden spoon. It helps to leave the butter out until it’s soft enough to spread easily. Scoop up about a tablespoon of butter with a spatula and spread each scoop onto the board in short strokes. Fill the board with the dollops of butter in nice rows. Then go ahead and dollop on the Cranberry Port Preserve in the same pattern. Serve with fresh crusty baguette. Sprinkling fresh thyme sprigs or citrus rind on top would be a nice touch.
