Breanne Teranishi - Dec. 12, 2022
Author: Layla Osberg
One of the most joyful things in life is curling up in a favourite chair and treating yourself to a steaming hot tea latte. No matter what else is going on in your world, the creaminess and richness of flavour of this elevated cuppa really satisfies for the perfect afternoon tea break. One of the most difficult things, however, is finding the time. It’s a wonderful indulgence, or maybe even necessity, especially at this time of year, to access a moment of quiet for yourself. So when faced with multiple engagements over the holidays this simple recipe of tea and eggnog will fortify for whatever festivities or shopping trips are in store. Eggnog is a fun and delicious choice for your tea latte, but milk with some sweetener like honey or maple syrup works beautifully here as well. This recipe is designed to fit in your busy day and can be made with any of your favourite Murchie’s tea. Needless to say, we’re in a festive mood so this recipe calls for orange and vanilla scented Murchie’s Christmas Tea.
Murchie’s Eggnog Tea Latte
made with Christmas Tea
Ingredients
- 2 Murchie’s Christmas Tea bags or 1 tablespoon of loose tea.
- ¼ cup boiling water
- ½ cup eggnog
- ½ cup milk
Directions
Bring the water to a boil and steep the tea for 3-5 minutes.
While the tea is steeping, add the eggnog and milk to a small pot and heat until nice and steaming but not boiling.
Pour the tea into a mug and top up with the hot eggnog.
Sprinkle cinnamon or nutmeg on top if you like.
