US Tariffs
How they may affect our tea and coffee fans
Due to the political actions taken by the current administration of the United States, we have added a tariff fee onto our online checkout for US-bound orders starting August 29. The de minimis exemption for packages crossing the border ends August 29, meaning they will receive tariff evaluation by US Customs & Border Protection. The fee on our checkout varies depending on the items in your cart, and will be updated as tariffs change.
Across our stores and offices, we have heard nothing but positivity towards our country from our American friends. Your care is deeply appreciated. Rest assured, Murchie's will continue to be your home of tea & coffee.
While these changes occur, we and many other Canadian companies anticipate that packages crossing the border will be delayed. There may be unforeseen circumstances that require us to hold your package until we can send it across the border. We will keep customers informed as best we can.
Will I get a tariff bill in the mail?
No - we have already billed applicable fees at checkout. You may know this as "Delivered Duties Paid" (DDP). If you do receive a bill, please reach out to us at order@murchies.com.
What items are likely to be tariffed?
We expect giftware, baked goods, and coffee to be the most affected, as they are not CUSMA/USMCA-compliant goods. As you know, we roast and blend our own coffee, but this does not qualify it for special treatment under CUSMA/USMCA; it will likely be evaluated at the current tariff rate for Canadian imports. Tea enjoys different treatment under CUSMA/USMCA, and thus we do not expect it to receive tariffs.
Does this affect your free shipping over $50 offer?
Orders with $50+ of Murchie's goods (after promotions) will still ship for free until further notice. Any applicable duties/taxes/tariffs do not count towards this total.

Thank you.
Your support & understanding is greatly appreciated.
