My favourite afternoon "cozy vibes" tea Review by ['Vanilla and comfort lover']
I love getting introduced to this tea a few years ago- it's the MOST SOOTHING tea ever, with a splash of milk and bit of sugar, it soothes the body if you are a vanilla lover. It's my favourite tea of all the Murchie's black flavoured teas, if you are a vanilla lover (which, how can anyone not be?). Next best thing to this would be a chocolate tea, which you could almost pour over yourself. :)

Grew up drinking STASH vanilla nut cream, and it was delicious, but I can't find it in stores anymore. While I don't see a vanilla hazelnut option, I was delighted to find that this tastes even better, and almost mimics the flavour of the vanilla nut I grew up with when I add almond milk. It almond, not hazelnut, but delicious nonetheless, maybe even better. I plan to keep reordering this for the foreseeable future.

I tried this on a whim. The scent of the leaves is amazing and brews into a rich tea.

Oh this Vanilla tea is so good! I just use a little milk. That's all you need for this fine tea! Smooth and creamy! Thanks for the quality care and shipped on time! ❤️

Purchased 8oz of this tea expecting vanilla tea. Can't taste or smell vanilla at all. Most like a floral tea. Wondering from other reviews if was sold wrong tea. Was a recommendation of the sales person at Murchies because I like Paris Afternoon. Will never buy this again and am so disappointed.

I started buying tea from Murchies 27 years ago. Vanilla has been my favourite all these years. Very strong and goes well with milk. My husband was never a tea drinker when we met, but he became one after having this vanilla tea with milk. Now all my friends are fans and they ask for it whenever they come over. Thank you for keeping this flavour and I hope you will always!

Really lovely tea. A couple of years ago I had started a search for a replacement tea for another favorite when I could not easily obtain it (Mariage Freres French Breakfast--another black tea with vanilla notes)--and I found that this tea also suits my taste preferences.

Just found a hidden bag of Murchie Vanilla Tea from 1995 (I had written the date on a slip of paper and put the tea in a tin canister...). The aroma took me back 20 years and it still tasted great after all this time. Guess I'll have to buy more!!

I purchased one pound of Vanilla Tea while in Victoria this summer. It is so delicious that I am now going to order two more pounds to be sent to me in Arizona. I don't want to run out of it. I drink it with honey and it is delicious.

Good with milk too, but I prefer this tea straight up! The smell is nicely strong and the feel is very smooth. I've had vanilla teas that are too weak - this one is definitely strong enough. I highly recommend this if you're thinking about it!

The vanilla tea is awesome and agree with Lovely Laura that it has a perfect mixture of sweet. I have shared it with family and co-workers and can not keep it on our self at home and at the office. It is extremely popular. You will not regret purchasing this tea. Also visit the store in Victoria if you get the chance. The smell in the store is intoxicating.

Subtly sweet and so delicious! This has become almost like comfort food to me! The smell of the brewed cup is warm and full and the perfect mix of sweet without being sugary. The tea still shines through the flavour though, so this is by no means an over flavoured tea!

For most people coffee is a necessity for their morning ritual. Vanilla tea is mine! I cannot start my morning without my vanilla tea. I started buying this tea in my early teens, 15 years later and I still continue to buy it. I prefer the 1lb loose tea option rather than tea bags. I've tried other vanilla teas but this is the best. Try it with milk and sugar.

Steeping the Best (Guide)
Different types of teas should be steeped according to certain times and water temperatures to bring out their best flavours. Use this guide as a starting point, and then experiment until you find the perfect brewing method for your favourite tea.
Based on approximately one level teaspoon (2.5 g) of loose tea or one tea bag per 6-8 ounce (180-240 mL) cup. For stronger flavour, add more tea. Brewing for longer may increase the strength of the tea, but will likely also cause bitterness.
Tea Bags vs. Loose Tea
While our tea bags and loose tea are crafted to match the same flavour profile, there are discernable effects between the two formats. Namely, the leaves inside tea bags is milled, making it much finer and a quicker brew, while loose tea can take a couple minutes longer to steep. Tea bags are very convenient, but loose tea can be more visually appealing and brewed with a reusable infuser.
- Tea bags: steep for 3 - 4 minutes
- Loose tea: steep for 4 - 5 minutes
General Steeping Temperatures
The table included here shows some general guidelines for steeping different kinds of tea. Be mindful that some teas, even two from the same category, will brew differently than others. In particular, our green-black blends will often have different ratios of green and black teas - the more green-leaning ones should be brewed at a lower temperature range. Experimentation is highly encouraged, as tea is very much a matter of personal taste.
Puerh and oolong teas are often steeped multiple times for a shorter period of time in smaller brewing vessels. This method creates a curious exploration of the tea as it unfurls, developing new flavours with each subsequent brew - often making for great social conversation.
If you're unsure, try steeping in the middle range for your tea type. If the result is too bitter, steep at a lower temperature or for a shorter time. If the result is flat, try a higher temperature.
