there was a coconut ginger rooibos-shaped hole left in my life after teavana went under but this tea is honestly above and beyond just being a replacement. the spice blend is perfect, i think it's the only chai i've ever had that actually has some bite to it. a touch of almond milk makes for a perfect drink to accompany a late dinner since i prefer to avoid caffeine at night. will definitely be keeping this stocked for the foreseeable future

Thrilled to discover this tea. Not normally a fan of rooibos tea, by as a lover of chai flavored teas, and wanting to explore caffeine reduction, this is a hit. I make it with a tablespoon of coconut milk (thick Aroy-D Brand, or coconut cream) and a drop of stevia. For a coffee-shop fancy drink equivalent, top with Gay Lea’s coconut whip cream.

I bought only 2oz when we were on vacation in Victoria, and I wish I had purchased more! I was not sure I would like the coconut in it, as I'm not a coconut fan. This tea blew me away, I loved it so much! Wonderful deep rich flavor, richer than most of the rooibos I have tried. Will definitely be ordering more. I drink it straight, but I'll have to try steeping it in milk for a different flavor.

I'm not fond of conventional chai, too much clove or something. This one has the perfect balance of spices and other flavors, both sharp and naturally sweet. We drink it with milk. I think my son must drink it by the gallon because I bought 8 oz. a few months ago and am now buying a pound.

I did find this tea to be a bit spicy but when I mixed it with some traditional rooibos it was just the perfect mix for me!

I purchased 4 oz package on a great vacation in Victoria. I should have gone back to purchase more before leaving--it wasn't enough! I left the package with my daughter. She returned the rest (about a quarter of the bag) to me at Christmas time. I have now finished it, and cannot find a substitute in the States. Love it with a tiny bit of sweetener and a splash of cream. Ordering more!

Coconut! What a wonderful addition to the chai rooibos. We bought it on a mini vacation to Victoria and now I'm shopping the website for more.

I cannot tolerate caffeine, but love strong tea. This tea is incredible -- delicious, and very strong if you choose to brew it that way. The flavor is remarkable and unique. I am hooked and order sent to the U.S.

Nearly all herbal, caffeine free teas cannot satisfy this black tea lover. But this one does. The mix of rooibos, cinnamon, coconut with a chili kick is delicious after dinner, settles the stomach and won't keep you up at night. I'm so happy to have discovered it.

So, I bought 2 oz on a quick trip to Victoria. This is the BEST flavored Rooibos I've ever tried. Comforting cinnamon, ginger, cloves and toasted coconut with a nice little kick of chili on the finish. Try this sweetened with honey and a splash of cream. You won't be disappointed.

Steeping the Best (Guide)
Different types of teas should be steeped according to certain times and water temperatures to bring out their best flavours. Use this guide as a starting point, and then experiment until you find the perfect brewing method for your favourite tea.
Based on approximately one level teaspoon (2.5 g) of loose tea or one tea bag per 6-8 ounce (180-240 mL) cup. For stronger flavour, add more tea. Brewing for longer may increase the strength of the tea, but will likely also cause bitterness.
Tea Bags vs. Loose Tea
While our tea bags and loose tea are crafted to match the same flavour profile, there are discernable effects between the two formats. Namely, the leaves inside tea bags is milled, making it much finer and a quicker brew, while loose tea can take a couple minutes longer to steep. Tea bags are very convenient, but loose tea can be more visually appealing and brewed with a reusable infuser.
- Tea bags: steep for 3 - 4 minutes
- Loose tea: steep for 4 - 5 minutes
General Steeping Temperatures
The table included here shows some general guidelines for steeping different kinds of tea. Be mindful that some teas, even two from the same category, will brew differently than others. In particular, our green-black blends will often have different ratios of green and black teas - the more green-leaning ones should be brewed at a lower temperature range. Experimentation is highly encouraged, as tea is very much a matter of personal taste.
Puerh and oolong teas are often steeped multiple times for a shorter period of time in smaller brewing vessels. This method creates a curious exploration of the tea as it unfurls, developing new flavours with each subsequent brew - often making for great social conversation.
If you're unsure, try steeping in the middle range for your tea type. If the result is too bitter, steep at a lower temperature or for a shorter time. If the result is flat, try a higher temperature.
