The sweet flavour of apricots blended with Ceylon and Keemun black teas makes for a sweet, mellow cup.
Keemun is produced in the Qimen County of Huangshan City, in Anhui province of China. It was first produced in 1875 and quickly gained popularity in England, and became the most prominent ingredient of the English Breakfast tea blend.
Ceylon tea is grown in Sri Lanka, an island off of the southern coast of India. The country Sri Lanka was called Ceylon until 1972 and although the name of the country changed at this time, the name Ceylon was kept for tea.

Now a staple in our household Review by Julia
I tried the Apricot Tea in a sampler, and was surprised at how amazing it was. My husband and I now drink it regularly. It's a true rich tea flavour, but there's something about the apricot note that enhances it tremendously. This is delicious hot with a splash of milk, and it doesn't require sweetener -- although it's great with sugar if you do like additional sweetness. Also superb as an iced tea (cold-brewing takes longer but is worth the trouble). I now buy the teabag version only because my husband is likelier to enjoy it if he doesn't have to fuss with loose leaves. Would get it in boxes of 100 bags if I could! Just a fabulous tea.

One of my favourite fruit flavoured teas! It's so good that I had to order more. Mixes very nicely with milk and sugar too.

I agree wholeheartedly with a previous reviewer. This makes the most refreshing iced tea and is a daily staple in the summertime. A well known chain across Canada used to serve this unsweetened with a side of simple syrup. Once they discontinued it, I had a hard time locating apricot tea. Many years later I came across this and brings all the memories back. Exceptional flavour!

This loose black tea offers an authentic flavour and aroma of apricots in a marvellous blend that pairs perfectly with scones or chocolate, cookies or cake. I prefer mine without milk. My book club enjoys this tea served in my fine bone china teacups with crackers and Boursin or Wensleydale apricot cheese. It has such a remarkable aftertaste.

This is my favorite iced tea! No sugar is needed with the great flavor. A no calorie summer afternoon treat. Some flavored teas taste make you think you are sipping perfume- not this. Friends ask me what it is and where to get it.

The apricot aroma isn't quite as strong when brewed, but it's still a deliciously sweet and fruity black tea. Perfect for drinking with summertime breakfasts.

I love the smell of this tea. Once brewed the apricot taste and smell is diminished, but the tea bags smell amazing. I could leave them around like potpourri!

Of all the teas I have had from Murchies, this is without a doubt my favourite. The aroma is incredible. Inhale deeply and stress vanishes. And it tastes even better. My 'Go to' when sad, irritated or even just feeling lonely.

Years ago Murchie's apricot tea must have had real fruit in it. The new blend is pleasant enough but doesn't come close to the intensity and true flavour of the original apricot tea that I so loved. Maybe there will be a comeback some day?

This has become my new favorite ... With a little honey and a splash of cream this is divine. Great for mornings or even decadent enough as a dessert tea .... Really so good, very smooth and creamy ! Great quality !

I tried this tea recently and really love it ! It's my new favourite. The apricot has such a smooth creaminess to it. I also added cream and honey. Heaven in a cup.

I have had a cup of Murchie's apricot tea every morning for 20 years. I love the flavour and taste. My day is not quite the same if I run out.

Love this stuff; a pot o' this in the morning and I'm GOLDEN. I took it with me, along with my little teapot, when I went on vacation recently, braving the stares of other tourists in the hotel, because I know that everything in the restaurants/coffee shops is "Ptooey!" compared to this. Taking my first sip right now as I write this, ahhhh.....

This is a delightful treat with a smooth strong tea and the lovely aroma and taste of apricot.

I've tried apricot flavours from several places, and nothing comes close to Murchie's. This is a full, fruity apricot flavour with a strong black tea to back it up. It's still recognizably tea, unlike many of the fruit teas I see in some other places, which have little to no nods to tea at all. This particular tea is my favourite flavoured indulgence when I feel like something more desserty than black tea. (Posted on 12-09-28)

I first tried this tea as part of the fruity sampler pack. I really never would have thought I'd like it but I think apricot is now my favorite flavored. You really should try it. If you are curious but not totally sure, get the 10 pack box. I think you'll find it surprisingly wonderful.

This is my favourite tea, and I've been drinking it for several years now. It does not taste like chemicals or fake fruit, which I find many fruity teas do, and has a nice bite to it too. I also enjoy doing a half and half combination of this with the Lavender blend tea from Murchie's, which comes out great, or else blending it half and half with Earl Grey, as the apricot and bergamot go nicely.

This is one of my favourites for iced tea. Use a little more tea when you brew it, and don't let it steep too long. The end result is a refreshing drink with no bitterness.

This tea is also incredibly good over ice with lemon and/or sweetener, or in a tea latte! Mmmm! A very versatile and yummy tea!

The apricot tea is a very smooth, flavorful tea. I don't usually like any fruit flavored teas because they taste fake to me, but Murchies has done an amazing job with this one! I would recommend this for anyone who is not sure about stepping out of their "tea comfort zone". I've been enjoying it for over 10 years!

Steeping the Best (Guide)
Different types of teas should be steeped according to certain times and water temperatures to bring out their best flavours. Use this guide as a starting point, and then experiment until you find the perfect brewing method for your favourite tea.
Based on approximately one level teaspoon (2.5 g) of loose tea or one tea bag per 6-8 ounce (180-240 mL) cup. For stronger flavour, add more tea. Brewing for longer may increase the strength of the tea, but will likely also cause bitterness.
Tea Bags vs. Loose Tea
While our tea bags and loose tea are crafted to match the same flavour profile, there are discernable effects between the two formats. Namely, the leaves inside tea bags is milled, making it much finer and a quicker brew, while loose tea can take a couple minutes longer to steep. Tea bags are very convenient, but loose tea can be more visually appealing and brewed with a reusable infuser.
- Tea bags: steep for 3 - 4 minutes
- Loose tea: steep for 4 - 5 minutes
General Steeping Temperatures
The table included here shows some general guidelines for steeping different kinds of tea. Be mindful that some teas, even two from the same category, will brew differently than others. In particular, our green-black blends will often have different ratios of green and black teas - the more green-leaning ones should be brewed at a lower temperature range. Experimentation is highly encouraged, as tea is very much a matter of personal taste.
Puerh and oolong teas are often steeped multiple times for a shorter period of time in smaller brewing vessels. This method creates a curious exploration of the tea as it unfurls, developing new flavours with each subsequent brew - often making for great social conversation.
If you're unsure, try steeping in the middle range for your tea type. If the result is too bitter, steep at a lower temperature or for a shorter time. If the result is flat, try a higher temperature.
