A long-time fan favourite, originally blended in 1981 to commemorate the Royal Wedding of Charles and Diana. It is a unique blend of Ceylon, Darjeeling, Keemun and Assam black teas that results in a very strong, flavourful cup!

This is my favorite tea, lovely flavor, dark and delicious. Wondering if you will change the name to King Charles Blend? Whatever its name, it is the best.

Delicious. I have it every afternoon when I arrive home from work. It is the second highlight of my day, after the cup of Murchies tippy golden Assam every morning. Such a treat. Thank you BTW is there going to be a King Charles III blend?

This is my absolute favorite black tea. Nice rich, strong black blends flavor. I only happen to fall in love with tea, for purchasing the collective tin. I still use it and just refilled it on my last trip to Victoria.

I like Prince Charles blend over the 30 teas I have tried. Good anytime if day, with or without lemon, or honey, or milk. And it makes a good iced tea.

I first discovered Murchie's in my honeymoon in B.C. I fell in love with the store in Victoria. Since I'm an avid Assam fan, one of the employees recommended I tried this one. Oh, she was so right! Strong, aromatic, bold... delicious.

If money were no object the Murchie's Assam Superior would probably be the only strong black tea to touch my lips. Fortunately for us common folk there is this amazing blend! The fragrance alone enlivens the senses and the malty yet sweet taste is perfectly balanced. This tea is my everyday go-to pick-me-up! The best black tea blend (at an affordable price)!

Thought the tea might be overly aromatic but surprisingly it was fresh and very refreshing. A real pick me up. We take it with a little milk and no sugar and it makes over teas seem overly heavy. This tea is not weak nor too bitter. Very satisfying blend.

This is my all time favorite tea. I got hooked on it on a class field trip and 13 years later it is still my favorite worth the drive from Seattle and we have good tea here but nobody can beat this one :)!

I have tried a wide variety of black teas from Murchie's over the years. I have bought this blend since it first came out and it has remained my favourite for a strong, subtle, flavourful black tea. My US family is hooked as well. And the price is right.

In reality I like most black tea's, and a lot of Murchie's Royal Teas (eg. Diamond and Golden Jubliee) are fantastic and are some of my favorites! After trying them all however I have found my new favorite in the Prince Charles. Not overly smokey but still strong and flavorful. A worthwhile tea to try for all black tea lovers!

Coffee Ratings
We rate the flavour properties of our coffees along two dimensions: roast and body.
Roast is simply a result of how long and how hot the beans have been roasted, which can be seen in the colour of the finished bean, and typically results in general flavour traits:

Tea Brewing Guide
Different types of teas should be brewed according to certain times and water temperatures to bring out their best flavours. Use this guide as a starting point, and then experiment until you find the perfect brewing method for your favourite tea.
Based on approximately one level teaspoon (2.5g) of loose tea or one tea bag per 6-8 ounce (180-240ml) cup. For stronger flavour, add more tea. Brewing for longer may increase the strength of the tea, but will likely also cause bitterness.

Coffee Brewing Guide
The simplest methods for brewing coffee are drip coffee, pour over and French press. These guidelines are a starting point; modify the ratio of coffee to water, the grind, and brewing time to your taste. If your coffee is not strong enough, increase the proportion of coffee per cup of water, grind the beans finer, or allow them to brew longer – or any combination of these factors. If your coffee is too strong, simply do the opposite.
Drip coffee or pour over method: hot water is gradually poured over coffee grounds and slowly drips through
- Fine to medium grind coffee
- 1.5 to 2.5 tablespoons of coffee per cup of water
- Coarse grind coffee
- 1 to 1.5 tablespoons of coffee per cup (e.g. 4-6 tbsp for a 4-cup French press)
- Pour about 1/3 of the water over the coffee grinds; wait about 30 seconds and then pour in the rest
- Wait 4-5 minutes, then push down the plunger to separate the grounds from finished coffee, and enjoy!
